Marking a shift
Text-based performance and permanent intervention at Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen, Norway (2018)

The controlled flood was part of a performance during which I read a script as water flowed from the art centre’s kitchen sink. The reading ended as the sink started to overflow, but the tap was left running for the duration of the event, eventually flowing out of the door. The first part of the script was applied as text to the patio using water-resistant spray (visible when wet). The last line was sandblasted into the sink, making a permanent mark.

With thanks to staff at Hordaland Kunstsenter, The Art Academy at the University of Bergen, artist Audrey Hurd and plumber Espen Aas.
